It is quite a subtle effect but also slightly annoying and I have found I have to either live with the light flashing or put the clock on a higher brightness than I would like to eliminate it. The other issue is a minor irritation in that the led indicators for Alarm1 and Alarm2 flash with the dots separating the hour and minutes on certain brightness levels. Going from 2 to 3 and upwards appears to have a much more gradual gain, but level 1 is often too quiet to be heard while level 2 is just a bit too loud to call quiet.
